Let us help youPlacement fee
The placement fee, also known as the maid's loan, is a cost that the helper incurs when matched with an employer. It covers recruitment and administrative services, and is initially paid by the employer during deployment. The helper repays this fee through salary deductions over the first few months.
Illustration
Thandar Wai, a domestic helper from Myanmar, earns a monthly salary of $500. Her placement fee totals $3,000, which is equivalent to six months of her salary. As her employer, you’ll be required to pay this amount in full upfront upon her deployment to your home. Thereafter, you can recover the placement fee by deducting $500 from her monthly salary for the first six months of her employment.
